陶芸教室

娘と参加した一日陶芸教室の作品ができ上がりました。
私は小さめのおかず皿、娘はお茶碗を作ろうと思っていたのが平たくなってしまったので取り皿に。
色はそれぞれが好きな緑とピンク。

体験クラスだったので二、三時間で形造り、絵付け、色付けまで。
それでも久しぶりに誰かに教わる、という経験は新鮮でした。
女性の先生に要所要所で指導をして頂いたり、模様や色のバリエーションを教えてもらったり。

そういえば美術の授業も陶芸の時は楽しかったなぁ、、、
静物画や風景画など、実物を忠実に描かなければならないものは苦手だったけれど自由な制作やデザイン的なものはすごく好きでした。
そして美術の時間と言えばおしゃべりタイム（笑）
盛り上がりすぎて先生に怒られることもしょっちゅうだったような。

One Day Pottery Class

I took my 4 year old daughter to a pottery class two months ago, and recently received our finished projects.  It was a one day class, so we only got to work on part of it for a few hours.  Since I am basically a self-taught creator, the last time someone taught me how to make something was probably in my high school art classes.  I felt very relaxed, knowing there was someone I can ask advice for, whereas my everyday process is an endless trial and error, looking up books and internet sites for techniques to improve my skills and sometimes to create what I have in mind.

The pottery class also brought back memories from art classes in middle and high school.  I would chat away with my girl friends or take short glances at my crush.
