秋色の簡単ワンピース

April RhodesのStaples Dressで二枚目を作りました。（一枚目はコチラ→☆）
黒にベージュのランダムドットのサラリとした生地。

これからカーディガンとブーツに合わせ着たいと思います。
珍しく、シーズン本番前に作れた！

襟ぐり、袖ぐりは共布ではなく市販のバイアステープを使ったので前回よりきれいに仕上がりました。
でもその分襟ぐりは開きが大きくなってしまったので次作る時はそこを調整せねば。

ちなみに一枚目は一度ワンピースとして着ましたがやはり丈が短かったのと、全身花柄は似合わなかった、、、
ということでブラウス丈にジョッキっと切ってしまい、その後は大活躍。
同じ生地なのにブラウスだとセーフだけど、ワンピースはアウト。
切った下半分は来年、娘のスカートにでもしようと思います。

Autumn Color Staples Dress

I made my second Staples Dress in an autumn color fabric - black with random dots in beige.  I plan to wear them with cardigans and boots.  It's still not that cold here in Yokohama, went up to around 85°F yesterday, which means I've made a piece before the season!

This time, instead of making bias tape from the same fabric, I used store bought bias tape.  It resulted in a nicer finish, especially at the bottom of the armhole.  I was more careful in ironing each step, and that helped too.
However, the neckline became larger, so I will have to keep that in mind when I cut the fabric for my next piece.  (Yes, more to come!)

The first dress I made (blogged HERE), I cut off the hem to a blouse length after wearing it once.  I don't know but it was just too sweet for me, maybe because I had cut my hair short.  It worked out fine after making it shorter, easy to wear and nice and breezy.
I think I will make a skirt for my daughter next year with the bottom half!
